    About Us

We are the North Yorkshire Centre, a part of the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

The Centre is run by voluntary committee members, who are elected at the Annual General Meetings of each Centre.

    ABOUT RALLYING

    WHAT IS A RALLY?

    What is a Rally?

A rally is a gathering of Caravan Club Members, who enjoy the odd weekend away, with fun thrown in for good measure.

    What is a Rally Officer?

Your Rally Officer is not an official like a Traffic Warden, but a friendly face to meet you when you arrive and has arranged the weekend for you.

    What do we do?

After you have booked your rally from the 'Handbook' or the 2024 Rally Programme , once the weekend arrives, just follow the directions given in the events book or website. As you approach the Rally Field you will see directional signs to help you find  your entrance. On arrival you will find the Rally Officer waiting for you at the rally office, which is usually the first unit you see which should have a sign outside so you can find them. Once you have booked in, they will hand you an envelope containing the programme for the weekend and show you to your pitch. The field is marked out with ample space between units and with a tidy appearance. It is intended that the front offside of your caravan is on the marker and your car parked on the offside of the caravan when unhitched, Tents will be shown to there pitch and will have space for one car. You will also be shown where the fresh water tap and the elsan disposal points are.

Competitions and activities may be held on the field.

    What are the social Activities?

The rally may include a social on the Saturday night which is a family event, at a modest cost. This could take the form of a dance or a fancy dress or in the summer a B.B.Q. Your weekend often includes a competition or games for the children and adults alike. All these are entirely optional, but are always good fun.

    What is Flagpole?

You may have heard of strange goings on around the flag, do not be alarmed, this is also a fun event, and is where you and your fellow ralliers gather to have coffee. You will also hear the results from any competitions, welcome visitors and new ralliers, announce forthcoming events and rallies and most importantly, thank your rally officers.

    We look forward to seeing you on a North Yorkshire Rally;

Denise, Paul, Karen, Andy and Carol your Centre officers and

Laura, Stuart, John, Ros, Ian and Joy, Richie and Carl your Centre Committee.

Please remember to inform the Rally Officers if you will be unable to attend a rally for which you have booked. If cancelling at a late stage and no mobile number is available for the Rally Officer, please contact the Secretary.

What does your Centre offer you?

The most popular Centre activities are rallies, which will see
members getting together in the great outdoors in a friendly
and social atmosphere. Held over a weekend, or longer, you
can participate as much or as little as you like. Maybe take
advantage of the local countryside, visit a stately home or
local attraction, or join in a sporting activity. Perhaps you’d
prefer to just sit comfortably and relax; it’s your choice.
